At this point I should explain something I call my "style schizophrenia", even though it runs much deeper than just clothing. Basically, My style and mindset and musical taste and outlook changes constantly between essentially two different things:
-Goth
to be clear on this: just cause I'm not constantly goth doesn't mean that I'm a poser. It just means that I am more versatile than the average person.
so there.
but to explain my goth stage, you must realize that it isn't hardcore metal or industrial or even traditional 80's goth. its much more of a romantic/victorian/cabaret goth. Like black lace gloves, red roses, corsets, Edgar Allen Poe, layers and layers of petticoats, and lots of Rasputina and Emilie Autumn.
-Bohemian
my bohemian persona is much happier than my goth persona. It can be summed up by Panic! at the Disco's song "Mad as Rabbits" and Lewis Carrol's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" with some Andy Warhol-ness mixed in for good measure.
so that's basically all there is to know about my style schizophrenia. I do have other personas, but they are basically variations on these two. While I love having these different outlooks and styles and everything, it is also very very frustrating. I mean, here I am, studying art history, minding my own business, and a Dresden Dolls song comes on, and all of a sudden I have to change into black velvet and watch the Addams Family TV show. grrr.
